THE PIG SCROLLS: By Gryllus the Pig User Review - Kirkus Gryllus, formerly a cook during the Trojan War, is now a pig—a talking pig. He was among Odysseus's band of /5(3). The Pig Scrolls. Behold Gryllus, sarcastic former crewman of Odysseus, changed by Circe into a swine -- and happy to stay that way. Life is just fine until the prophetess Sibyl tells him that the 4/5(4).   Of THE PIG SCROLLS, he says, "I got the idea for this book when I was reading Homer's ODYSSEY and found myself most interested in some of the non-heroic characters in the background. Working on the book gave me a chance to revisit a world I have always loved -- that of ancient mythology and history/5(). In The Elder Scrolls Online, this book is a lorebook. It can be found in the following locations: Next to a Dreugh Pile, directly north of the Ten-Maur-Wolk map-marker. Note: The quest Saving the Relics leads the Vestige to this pile as part of the : Tyston Bane.

Loc.1 – .   This is the first story about Gryllus the Pig, there is also a sequel is called The Pig Who Saved the World and I believe that more are planned. The characters are nearly all 'real' ones from Greek mythology but the story is fast moving and witty with a great dead pan delivery/5(16). Both this and the sequel (the Pig who saved the world) are pleasant, enjoyable, reads, though not the classics that other reviews I've seen have made out. It's basically the adventures of one of Odysseus' sailors, who, on having been turned into a pig, decided to stay that way. They are basically children's books/5(16).   Greek Mythology is shaken up in this tale from Paul Shipton. The Pig Scrolls revolves around Gryllus the pig, cursed to be a pig but perfectly happy about it. After he¿s found by a Prophetess (and accompanied by a young Homer) Gryllus is off to save the world, as only a pig can.5/5(1).

He was among Odysseus’s band of wayward home-seekers who ended up on the wrong end of Circe’s wand. When the rest returned to human form, Gryllus (pronounced GRILL-us) intentionally stayed a pig because it was easier! Gryllus is the hero of The Pig Scrolls. Gryllus is a pig. Well, not strictly speaking a pig. He's a man who got turned into a pig. More specifically, he was one of Odysseus's crew (you remember Odysseus - big bloke, hero, all round clever clogs) and the whole crew got turned into pigs by Circe, a witch, but Gryllus never got turned back. The book is called “The Pig Scrolls” and Paul Shipton wrote it. The actual story is set in Ancient Greece, and is all about a pig called Gryllus. He was once a member of captain Odesseys’ famous crew, but was transformed into a pig by a god. Gryllus, who used to enjoy the quiet life in the woods, was captured by hunters when they realized.
